The USDETC, established in 2008, is a multi-university partnership between academia, industry, and dairy producers focused on advancing dairy education and sustainability. It offers practical, hands-on training for large herd dairy management, providing capstone experiences for students in many majors. Courses are led by nationally recognized experts and combine on-farm practicums, field trips, labs, and industry interaction, ensuring students receive the latest knowledge and technology. The consortium aims to prepare graduates for careers and further education in the dairy sector, while partnerships with industry sponsors offer valuable job opportunities.
